Born in Gunma Prefecture in 1961.He received Master’s degree at Tokyo Institute of Technology in 1987 and joined ULSI lab of Toshiba Corporation. He was involved in establishment of IT friendly manufacturing lines in 1990’s. In 2001, he became a board member of Semiconductor Portal, Inc. (an in-house startup), a portal site that was popular at that time, and changed from an engineer to a management side. In 2003 he returned Toshiba Corporation and focused on product planning, market development and internal start-up business (one IPO achieved in 2014). In 2016, he moved to Tohoku University to launch the company, and in 2018, he started Power Spin Inc. with Endoh CTO. At the same time, he was also appointed as a director of T&S inc., and in 2020, he became the second IPO company to go public. In 2022, he was appointed President & CEO of Power Spin Inc.
Born in Tokyo in 1962. Graduated from the Faculty of Science, University of Tokyo in 1987. Joined Toshiba in 1987 and engaged in R&D and commercialization of NAND memory. In 1995, he was appointed as a lecturer at the Institute of Electrical Communications, Tohoku University, and in the same year, he received a Ph.D. in engineering from Tohoku University, and after serving as an associate professor and associate professor at Tohoku University, he was promoted to professor in 2008. In the same year, he became a professor at the International Center for Advanced Study of Interdisciplinary Sciences, Tohoku University, and in 2012, he became a professor at the Graduate School of Engineering, Tohoku University. In addition, since 2010, he has also served as Deputy Director of the Center for Energy Conservation and Spintronics Integrated Systems, Tohoku University, and since 2012, he has also served as Director of the Center for International Integrated Electronics Research and Development at Tohoku University. Since 2012, he has been a Sendai City International Industry-Academia Collaboration Fellow, and since 2017, he has been a Research Professor at Tohoku University. He is engaged in research on 3DNAND memory, High-density non-volatile memory such as STT-MRAM and SOT-MRAM, ultra-low power consumption application processors such as non-volatile logic and high-performance CMOS circuits, and GaN on Si-based power electronics technology. In 2016, he received the Prime Minister’s Award, an award for meritorious contribution to industry-academia-government collaboration, and the 2017 National Invention Award for his invention of 3DNAND memory. 2023 IEEE Fellow.
